Pioneers 3rd After Day Two of AMCC's

Both the Alfred State women's men's and women's swimming & diving team sit in 3rd place after two days at the AMCC Championship at Penn State Behrend. The women have 191 points while the men have 149 points. 

Sarah Stevens (Wellsville) and Kathryn Lewis (Sanborn/Niagara Wheatfield) led the women's team on day two. Stevens won the 1m diving with a finals score of 324.90 after recording a 344.90 in the prelims while Lewis broke the school record in finishing 2nd in the 500 free (5:28.22).

In the 200 IM, Lauren Earley (Waterford/Shenendehowa) was 4th (2:23.68) while Elizaberth Drake (Lansing) was 6th in the 50 free (26.71). In the 500 free, Elizabeth Jurs (Elba) was 5th (5:58.54) and Alina Kisluk (Hamburg) was 6th (6:00.15).

The 200 free relay team Kaileigh Lehman (Lowville/Beaver River), Earley, Elizabeth Furmanski (Albion), and Drake finished 3rd in 1:47.83 while the 400 medley relay team of Earley, Lehman, Stevens, and Lewis was 3rd in 4:24.62.

On the men's side, Nathan Ciciera (Derby/Lake Shore) was 8th in the 50 free (22.98) while Ethan Tatro (Lockport) was 9th (23.09). Tyler La Flamm (Mexico) was 9th in the 200 IM (2:07.89).

The men's 200 free relay team of Tatro, Mason Sparks (Lockport/Royalton Hartland), Ciciera, and Nathan Miller (Gananda) was 3rd in 1:30.64 while the 400 medley relay team of La Flamm, Ethan Dale (Lock Haven, PA), Miller, and Tatro was 3rd (3:44.59).

Action continues tomorrow with prelims at 10 a.m., diving at 1 p.m, and finals at 6 p.m.
