AMCC Divers of the Year, Nick Beach & Sarah Stevens

Stevens and Beach Named AMCC Divers of the Year

Alfred State sophomores Sarah Stevens (Wellsville) and Nick Beach (Canandaigua) have been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Divers of the Year. This is the second straight season Beach has earned the honor.

Stevens took home the titles in both the 1m and 3m competition this weekend at the AMCC Championships. She scored 368.45 to win the 3m and 324.90 to win the 1m. Her score of 368.45 is a new school record in the 11-dive format on the 3m board. 

Beach took home the titles in both the 1m and 3m competition this past weekend for the second straight year. He won the 3m with a score of 433.40 and the 1m with a score of 432. During the 2017-18 season, he set three new NCAA era records, 1m six-dive competition (277.30), 3m six-dive competition (249.60), and 3m 11-dive competition (433.40). 

On top of being named Divers of the Year, both Stevens and Beach were named the AMCC Divers of the Week. Stevens earned the honor for the second time while Beach was honored for the fourth time.

This is the second year in a row that Alfred State has swept AMCC Diver of the Year honors. The Pioneer women's team finished 3rd at the AMCC Championships while the men finished 4th.
