4x800 relay team qualifies for ECAC Championships

Track & Field Competes at Cardinal Classic

The Alfred State track & field team completed a busy stretch of competition with several strong performances at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic.

The 4x800 relay led the way by qualifying for the ECAC Championships. The team of Austin Demberg (Westtown/Minisink Valley), Michael Girard (Phoenix), Cooper Buckley, and Caleb Boyce-Wright (Cheektowaga/John Kennedy) finished 3rd overall in 8:36.74. Rutledge was also 8th in the steeplechase (13:34.10).

Isiah Richardson (Geneva) qualified for the ECAC's in two events. He was 5th in the discus (37.80 m) and 7th in the long jump (6.37 m).

In throwing events, Paul Kemsley (Lancaster) won the discus with a toss of 47.07 m and was 3rd in the shot put (14.22 m), Anders Presthus (Lansing) was 4th in the javelin (39.74 m), and Dylan Perlino (Holland) was 7th in the hammer throw (43.44 m)

Joe Krestschmar (Phoenix, AZ) was 6th in the 10,000 (38:01.78) while Conrad Kroll (Minisink Valley) was 8th (39:09.63).

On the women's side, Katherine Frascella (Franklinville) was 3rd in the steeplechase (13:34.10) and Holly Fiore (Niagara Falls) was 5th in the javelin (29.05 m).
