Leading by eleven at half, 43-32, the Alfred State women's basketball team used a 20-2 run to start the 2nd half to put away Vaughn College on Saturday. The blue & gold improve to 9-4 on the season with the 85-56 victory.
Haley Witchella (Oxford) led Alfred State with 23 points and 21 rebounds. Destiny Brito (Manhattan/Park West) barely missed a triple-double finishing with 10 rebounds, 10 steals, and seven assists. Briana Meehan (Whitesville) connected on five 3-pointers and finished with 16.
Jennifer Fedrick (Buffalo/Bennett) added 13 points and nine rebounds and Helena Covington (Elmira Free) chipped in 13.
Alfred State continues their road trip on Sunday when they battle Fisher College (Boston, MA) at 11 a.m.
