Lady Pioneers Turn Albany Pharmacy Over

The Alfred State women's basketball team forced 37 turnovers as they eased to a 67-37 over Albany Pharmacy in the conolation game of the ACPHS Tip-Off Tournament. 

ACPHS led 14-12 after the 1st quarter before the Lady Pioneers got things rolling. The blue & gold outscored the Panthers 24 to 10 to take a commanding lead. They added to their lead by outscoring Albany 31-13 in the 2nd half.

Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) led the way for the second straight day with 16 points and nine boards. Breana Gleaton (Waldorf, MD) finished with 14 points while Kimberly Levee (Dansville) came off the bench and added 11. 

The Lady Pioneers shot 42.3% from the field, hit 4 of 15 three-pointers, and hit 3 of their 4 foul shot attempts. The blue & gold scored 36 points off of turnovers and outscored ACPHS 46 to 12 in the paint.

Emma Webster led the Panthers with 11 points while Dannie Griffin finished with 10. ACPHS shot only 27.5% from the field in the contest.

The Lady Pioneers (1-2) open up the home portion of their season on Tuesday when they host Medaille at 6 p.m.
