Big 2nd Quarter Lifts Pitt Bradford

Pitt Bradford outscored Alfred State 27 to 7 in the 2nd quarter en route to a 79-56 victory on Tuesday evening. The Panthers improve to 10-8 on the year while the Pioneers are now 9-6.

Alfred State connected on four 3-pointers and jumped out to the early 17-11 lead after the 1st quarter. In the 2nd, the Panthers shot 52.4% and hit three 3-pointers as they outscored Alfred State 27 to 7 and took the lead for good. The Pioneers shooting never got hot again and the Panthers kept the pressure on in the 2nd half.

Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) led the Pioneers with a career high 17 points. Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) finished the day with 11 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks while Kimberley Levee (Dansville) added 10 points.

Alfred State shot 24.7% from the field for the game, was 7 for 22 from three, and made 11 of their 19 foul shot attempts. 

Ali Rinfrette led five Panthers in double-figures with a solid all-around game. She finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and six steals. Stephanie Maciag added 15 points and 14 boards, Allison Guengerich had 14, Jennifer Isenberg chipped in 12, and Brittany Watts finished with 10.

The Panthers shot 39.2% from the field, connected on 9 of their 28 three-point attempts, and were 12 for 13 from the foul line. They also held a sizeable 62 to 46 rebounding advantage. 

The blue & gold are back at it on Saturday when they travel to SUNY Canton for a 2 p.m. tip-off with the Roos.
