Alfred State Falls in OT

The Alfred State women's basketball team was outscored 13 to 3 in overtime as SUNY Delhi rallied for a 90-80 victory on Sunday. The Broncos outscored the Pioneers 26 to 14 in the 4th quarter to tie the game and continued their roll in OT.

The blue & gold trailed 20-18 after the 1st quarter but got things moving in the 2nd and led 42-35 at halftime. They expanded their lead in the 3rd and led 63-51 heading into the final frame. The Broncos rallied and took the lead late before Minnie Robinson (Washington DC) hit a 3-pointer with 10 seconds remaining to tie it and send it to OT. Delhi hit 9 of 10 foul shots in the 4th to fuel the comeback. They continued to play well in the extra frame connection on 7 of their 8 foul shots to ice the game.

Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) scored a career high 35 points to lead Alfred State. Kimberly Levee (Dansville) added nine points while Kelly Kane (Wellsville) and Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) both finished with 8.

Brittany Toliver led the Broncos with 31 points while Katie Herba chipped in 16. 

Alfred State is back in action on Wednesday when they host Hilbert at 5:30 p.m.
