Balanced Attack Lifts Hawks

Five Hawks scored in double figures as Hilbert defeated Alfred State 71-47 on Wednesday evening. 

Hilbert led 19-10 after the 1st quarter but the Pioneers matched the Hawks in the 2nd quarter and continue to trail by nine, 33-24 at the half. A big 3rd quarter pushed the lead to over 20 and the Pioneers couldn't get any closer than 17 the rest of the way.

Kelsey Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) led the blue & gold with 14 points while Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) had 12 points and 12 boards. Janae Gibson (Bronx/Pelham Prep) chipped in eight points and six boards.

Kelsi Ebrt led the Hawks (15-5) with 16 points while Ashley Repine finished with 13 points and 17 rebounds. Taylor Corts finished with 13, Emily Gawlak had 12, and Katelyn Proy chipped in 10. 64 of Hilbert's 71 points came from their starting five.

The Pioneers head to Washington DC on Sunday for a 2 p.m. contest with Washington Adventist.\
