Acosta Nets 12 vs. Washington Adventist

Washington Adventist outscored Alfred State 19 to 8 in the 3rd quarter to break a 28-28 tie en route to a 59-46 victory on Super Bowl Sunday. 

The Shock led 19 to 14 after the 1st quarter but the Pioneers battled back and went into half tied at 28-28. WAU connected on five of their 10 three-pointers in the 3rd quarter when they outscored Alfred State 19 to 8.

April Acosta (Bronx/Evander Childs) led the Pioneers with 12 points and eight rebounds while Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) had 11 points and nine boards. Janae Gibson (Bronx/Pelham Prep) finished with six points and a game high 15 boards.

Aryana Hutcherson led the Shock with 16 points while Candace Berner chipped in 13 points off the bench.

The Pioneers end their current road trip on Wednesday when they take on Villa Maria at 6 p.m.
