Balanced Attack Leads Bengals Past Pioneers

Buffalo State used a big 1st half run as they got contributions from their whole roster as they defeated Alfred State 79-49 on Wednesday evening.

Alfred State led 13-8 in the 1st quarter but the Bengals went on a 20-0 run over the next seven minutes to take control of the game. Buffalo State led 37-19 at the half and kept adding to their lead in the 2nd half.

Kelsey Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) was the lone Pioneer in double figures as she finished with 13 points. Janae Gibson (Bronx/Pelham Prep) finished with nine points and 10 rebounds, Emily Benes (Buffalo/Mount Mercy) and Skylar Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) each came of the bench and chipped in eight.

Liv Lebaron led the Bengals with 23 points while Princella McCullough finished with 12 points and 16 rebounds. Grace Licata added 11 and Kaelee Lynch and Jenna Lee both finished in double figures with 10. 14 Bengals saw at time on the court.

The Pioneers return to the Orvis Activities Center on Friday evening when they host the Cardinals from St. John Fisher. Opening tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
