Big 2nd Half Lifts Wolves

Keuka shot 66.7% in the 2nd half as they were able to ride their hot shooting to a 70-43 victory over Alfred State on Saturday afternoon. 

Neither team could get much going offensively in the 1st half. A last second jumper by Lauren Anten gave Keuka a 12-10 lead after the 1st quarter. They outscored the Pioneers 10-8 in the 2nd and held the narrow 22-18 lead at the break. With 5:15 left in the 3rd quarter Kelsey Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) tied the game at 28-28 before the Wolves went on a 17-4 run to close out stanza and grab the lead for good. Keuka continued the pressure and didn't let the Pioneers mount a comeback.

Kelsey Shaulis led Alfred State with 17 points while Jordyn Pettit (Wellsville) recorded her second double-double by finishing with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) finished with seven points and four assists.

Anten led Keuka (6-3) with 14 points including her 1,000 of her career. Jariah Johnson recorded a double-double with 12 points and 16 boards while Riley Record came off the bench and chipped in 10. Keuka scored 46 of their points in the paint and 27 of their points came from their bench.

Alfred State shot 29.2% from the field for the game and 11.1% from three while Keuka shot 45.7% from the field and 18.2% from three.
