Medaille put together a strong 4th quarter and was able to rally for a 60-52 victory over Alfred State on Wednesday night.
Alfred State led 14-10 after the 1st quarter and 27-21 at half. They built their lead to a game high 10 points with under two minutes left in the 3rd quarter but Medaille shot 50% in the 4th and outscored the Pioneers 22-6 to take the victory.
Jordyn Pettit (Wellsville) recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 boards while Emily Kelley (Andover) finished with nine points and seven rebounds. Skylar Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) connected on three 3-pointers and finished with nine.
Amanda Arnold scored 12 of her game high 23 points in the Mavericks big 4th quarter. She completed the double-double with 14 boards. Erin Hardick chipped in 15 points and six rebounds and Morgan Kennedy added eight points and seven boards.
Alfred State shot 26.6% from the field for the game but connected on seven 3-pointers (7 for 26) while Medaille shot 33.9%. The Mavericks held a decisive 50 to 35 advantage on the boards.
The blue & gold wrap up the 2020 campaign on Saturday when they travel to La Roche for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
