Pioneers Split a Pair of Duals

The Alfred State wrestling team split a pair of dual matches on Friday evening. They defeated Jamestown CC 47-10 but fell 35-12 to Muskegon (MI) CC.

Casey Connor (Barnstable, MA), George Van Valen (Ithaca), and Kyle Fitzgerald (Turin/South Lewis) won matches vs. Jamestown CC. Connor pinned Ben Winkler in 1:119, Van Valen defeated John Snyder 28-13, and Fitzgerald eared a pin of Kevin Mosley. Patrick Lehman (Cincinnatus/Marathon), Jeffrey Gress (Lydonville), Nathan Gilligan (Canandaigua), Devin Horton (Owego Free), and Brandyn Whitacre (Jamestown) all earned forfeit victories.

Van Valen pinned Ronnell McGhee in 2:35 vs. Muskegon while Gress earned a forfeit victory.

The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday when they compete in the Niagara CCC Thunderwolves Open.
