Pioneers Battle Behrend

The Alfred State wrestling team returned to dual meet action on Wednesday evening and fell 30-19 at Penn State Behrend. The Pioneers won four of the ten matches on the evening.

Patrick Lehman (Cincinnatus/Marathon) opened up the night with a forfeit victory at 125. The Lions won the next two matches to make it 12-6. Casey Connor (Barnstable, MA) tied it with a pin (6:49) of Brandon Miller in the 149 lb. match. Mike Galton (Warsaw) gave the Pioneers at 15-12 lead with a 12-6 victory over Jake Ognibene.

Behrend took the next two matches to regain the lead 23-15 before George Van Valen (Ithaca) won 14-2 over Jacob Parson (184 lbs). The Lions sealed the victory with a pair of victories in the final two matches.

The Pioneers are right back in dual match action on Saturday when they travel to Penn College to battle the Wildcats and Bergen CC.
