Muhleisen's Hat Trick Lifts Alfred State Past Jefferson

Kali Mulheisen (Alfred Almond) recorded her first collegiate hat trick as the Alfred State women's soccer team defeated Jefferson CC 4-1 in the 2012 home opener. The Lady Pioneers are now 2-1 on the season.

Mulheisen had numerous chances early to score and netted the first goal of the game 20:04 into the contest. Hannah Gilray (Fredonia) was credited with the assist. 17 minutes later, Jefferson tied it up on a goal by Kari Gehrke.

Seven minutes into the 2nd half, Mulheisen put the Lady Pioneers back on top after getting a pass from Keri Bellavia (Greece Athena). Hannah Holmok (Alfred Almond) made it 3-1 with 20 minutes remaining in the game with her first collegiate goal. Just under five minutes later, Mulheisen completed the hat trick after getting a long pass from Brittany McEwen (Caledonia Mumford).

The Lady Pioneers held a 23 to 4 shot advantage in the contest. Krista DeCarlo (Bayshore/West Islip) made two saves in net to pick up the victory.

Alfred continues their five game homestand on Wednesday when they host Jamestown CC at 4 p.m.
