Eight Lady Pioneers Earn Postseason Honors

Eight members of the Alfred State women's soccer team have earned postseason honors. Four were named USCAA All-Americans, six were named All-Independent, and two earned USCAA All-Academic honors.

Allison Danielak (Brockport) was named 1st team USCAA All-American, named the All-Independent Goalkeeper of the Year, and 1st team All-Independent. Danielak started in 17 of the Lady Pioneers games in net. She logged 1,373 minutes on the season and made 87 saves. She had a goals against average of 1.51 and was part of four shutouts.

Brooke Geibel (Arkport) was named 2nd team USCAA All-American and 1st team All-Independent. She led the team with 13 goals and eight assists. Her 34 points with seven better than any other Lady Pioneer.

Midfielders Jocelyn Brittingham (Hornell) and Stormi Kruger (Medina) were both honorable mention USCAA All-American selections and 2nd team All-Independent honorees. Brittingham netted one goal and passed out five assists while Kruger had four goals and two assists on the year. Kruger becomes the first Pioneer athlete to be named USCAA All-American in two different sports (Kruger has earned softball All-American honors the past three seasons).

Chloe Cox (Tucson, AZ) was a 1st team All-Independent selection after registering nine points (two goals and five assists) from her defense position. 

Nicole Gilbert (Watertown) appeared in the defensive backfield in 16 games and was named 2nd team All-Independent.

Kylie Newman (Waverly) and Michayla Salatel (Geneseo) were named USCAA All-Academic. Newman was 4th on the team with 16 points (seven goals and two assists) while Salatel was 3rd with 23 points (nine goals and five assists in just 12 games). To earn All-Academic status a student-athlete must have over a 3.5 GPA while competing for at least two seasons. 

The Lady Pioneers finished the season 9-8 and made their 4th straight trip to the USCAA National Championships.
