Pioneer Wrap up Road Trip

The Alfred State women's soccer team outshot Penn State Abington 14 to 8 but the Lions scored the lone goal in the 1-0 contest. The Pioneers are now 4-2 on the season.

In a scoreless 1st half, the Pioneers held a 7 to 4 shot advantage. In the 65th minute, the blue & gold got a penalty kick opportunity but could not capitalize. 1:17 later, Jill Osborn netted the lone goal of the game after getting a pass from Haley Miller. Alfred State had four shots the rest of the way (7 total in the 2nd half) but could not beat Lion goalkeeper Samantha Friend.

Friend recorded the shutout by making seven saves while Allison Danielak (Brockport) made four saves for the Pioneers.

The blue & gold have a much deserved break after playing three games in five days. They return to action on Sunday when they host Penn State Beaver at 1 p.m.
