Michayla Salatel (Geneseo) scored a pair of goals as the Alfred State women's soccer team defeated SUNY ESF 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers are now 6-3 on the year while the Mighty Oaks fall to 6-2.
Salatel scored in the 20th minute after getting a pass from Chloe Cox (Tuscon, AZ). She scored again, her 8th of the season, in the 33rd minute after getting a pass from Dannielle O'Buckley (Jamaica/Ansbach).
Cox netted her second goal of the season to add some insurance in the 2nd half in the 50th minute.
SUNY ESF held a 11 to 7 shot advantage in the game. Allison Danielak (Brockport) made eleven saves in net to record the shutout.
The Pioneers are back in action next Saturday when they travel back to Syracuse to battle Bryant & Stratton.
