Shutout Streak Continues as Pioneers Hop Past Roos

The Alfred State women's soccer won their 5th straight contest and continued their shutout streak as they defeated SUNY Canton 1-0 on Satuday afternoon. The Pioneers are now 9-3 on the year and have not allowed a goal in 491 minutes.

The Pioneers outshot the Roos 7 to 0 in the 1st half but could not get one in the back of the net. 

For the second game in a row the game winning goal came seconds into the 2nd half. The lone goal of the game came just 16 seconds into the half when Dannielle O'Buckley (Jamaica/Ansbach) scored after getting a pass from Melissa Mineti (Livonia). The goal is the 6th of the season for O'Buckley. The blue & gold held a 8 to 6 shot advantage in the 2nd.

Allison Danielak (Brockport) made three saves to record sixth solo shutout of the year (has been part of seven total shutouts). Allison Wakefield made five saves for the Roos.

On the season, the blue & gold have outscored their opponents 39 to 8.

The Pioneers are back at Pioneer Stadium on Tuesday when they host Hilbert at 6 p.m.
