Late Goals Lift Redhawks

La Roche scored a pair of goals in the final 18 minutes of the game to rally for a 2-1 victory over Alfred State in an AMCC battle on Saturday.

The Pioneers got on the board in the 33rd minute when Alyssa Delany (Hornell) was able to net her first career goal after getting a crossing pass from Mac Congdon (Hornell).

The game remained 1-0 until the 73rd minute when Heaven Butler scored after getting a crossing pass from Kaylyn Cannon. The Redhawks took the lead just over eight minutes later when Ashley Mineard was able to score the game-winner after getting a set-up pass from Piper Claypool.

La Roche held a 15 to 7 shot advantage in the contest. Gretchen Hendrickson (Canisteo Greenwood) made six saves in net for the blue & gold.

Alfred State continues their roadtrip on Wednesday when they travel to Pitt-Bradford for a 4:15 p.m. contest.
