Pioneers Battle Pitt Greensburg Tough

The Alfred State women's soccer team played the top team in the AMCC tough on Saturday but fell 2-0 to Pitt Greensburg.

The Bobcats were able to capitalize on two quick hitting plays in the 1st half to account for the scoring in the contest. Ashley Lucas got a nice set up pass from Erika Caldro in 24:37 into the game to make it 1-0. Lucas found Juliana Bedoya in the 40th minute to make it a two goal advantage.

UPG (15-0, 7-0 AMCC) held a 17-6 shot advantage in the game. Lauren Yoder made four saves to record the shutout while Gretchen Hendrickson (Canisteo Greenwood) made seven saves for the blue & gold.

The Pioneers play their final home game of the 2019 season on Wednesday when they host Penn State Behrend at 7:15 p.m.
