Pioneers 3rd After Day One at Fredonia

The Alfred State women's swimming and diving team sit in 3rd after day one of the Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational. The Pioneers scored 166 points on day one.

Jessie LaRue (Livonia) was 4th in the 200 IM (2:20.12) after swimming a 2:17.76 in the preliminaries. Kathryn Lewis (Niagara Wheatfield) was 7th in the 500 free (5:33.48) while Elizabeth Drake (Lansing) was 10th in the 50 free (26.66)

In the 400 medley relay, Julia Urbina (Smithtown East), Hannah Snayczuk (Pioneer), Payton Armstrong (Monroe Woodbury), and Elizabeth Furmanski (Albion) finsihed 5th in 4:42.72.

On the diving board, Sarah Stevens (Wellsville) was 3rd in the 3m diving competition with 276.70 points while Leaha Langerman (Wayland Cohocton) was 4th (263.65).

Day two action begins at 11 a.m. with preliminaries and concludes at 7 p.m. with finals.
