Pioneers Down Altoona in the Pool

The Alfred State women's swimming team defeated Penn State Altoona 124-90 as they evened up their record in AMCC action (1-1).

Payton Armstrong (Highland Mills/Monroe Woodbury) won the 50 back in 32.52 and the 100 back in 1:09.02. She was also 2nd in the 50 fly (29.96).

Alina Kisluk (Hamburg) won the 1,000 free in 12:09.36 and was 2nd in the 500 free (6:00.17), Sarah Stevens (Wellsville) won the 200 free in 2:11.26 and was 2nd in the 200 IM (2:31.95), and Mikaela Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) won the 50 breast in 33.89 and was 2nd in the both the 100 free (1:00.54) and the 100 breast (1:17.16).

The 200 free relay team of Kisluk, Snayczuk, Rebecca Stevens (Wellsville), and Veronica Boller (Wales/Iroquois) won in 2:00.26 and the 200 medley relay team of Armstrong, Snayczuk, Kelsey Lynch (Wellsville), and Sarah Stevens won in 2:03.81.

The Pioneers head to the Flickenger Center in Buffalo next weekend to compete in the three day Erie CC Invitational. Action is slated for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
