Alfred State Has Strong Showing at Susquehanna

The Alfred State Women's Track and Field team competed today at the Susquehanna Tune-Up meet. A successful day for the Pioneers brought a lot of wins, AARTFC qualifiers and new school records.

Some standouts for the Pioneers include:

Emma Taggart: Taggart has shown dominance all season with wins and records being broken weekly, This week Taggart broke the Alfred State record in 60m hurdles again. Her time of 9.50 was also good enough to qualify for AARTFC. Taggart also competed in the high jump and placed second with a height of 1.52m. Her jump was only 5 hundredth's of a meter behind the first place competitor. 

Isabelle Popoff: Popoff competed in the 800m and landed in 5th place with a time of 2:29.21. She finished only 7 seconds behind first place. 

Sarah Rivet: Rivet competed in the 400m and placed 7th with a time of 1:03.59. Rivet was only 2 seconds behind first place.

Lily Schnell: Schnell competed in the triple jump and placed 8th with a distance of 9.73m.

Oluwatobi Adebowale: Adebowale competed in the weight throw and placed 6th. Her throw was a distance of 13.68m

The team of Isabelle Popoff, Emma Taggart, Sarah Rivet and Maddy Cole competed in the 4x400m relay and placed second. Their time of 4:29.29 bested third place by just over one second. 

The Pioneers are back in action on March 3 and 4 in NYC for the AARTFC event.
