Lady Spikers Drop Competitive Match with Houghton

After dropping the first game Houghton College rallied to win the next three games over Alfred State on Tuesday evening.  Houghton improves to 11-4 on the year while Alfred falls to 11-8.

The Lady Pioneers won the opener 25-21 but the Highlanders won the next two games 25-13, 25-13 and then pulled off a back and forth 28-26 victory in game four.

Lera Braun (Waterloo) led the Lady Pioneers with 27 assists, 15 digs, and seven kills.  Kay Pleghardt (Tioga) chipped in six kills and 10 digs, Ashley Hulse (Hammondsport) had eight kills, and Jessica Ramsey (Tioga) finished with 15 digs.

Hattie Burger led the Highlanders with 11 kills and 10 digs.  Laurel Wroblicky was credited with 34 digs while Jaime Green passed out 31 assists.

The Lady Pioneers are scheduled to travel to Penn State Beaver on Saturday to take on Beaver and Penn State Dubois.
