Volleyball Team Announces 2017 Schedule

Gene Doorley and the Alfred State volleyball team will look to continue their success of the past three years. The Pioneers hope to make a run for the ACAA title following a 28-game regular season.

The Pioneers begin the season with seven road contest. The team will play three games (Morrisville, Keystone, and Penn State Behrend) at Morrisville in the opening weekend and then batlle Cazenovia, Elmira, and SUNY Delhi in the second weekend at Elmira. A game at Medaille on September 14th end the season opening road trip.

The Pioneers open up the home portion of their schedule with a dual with cross county rival Houghton (9/19). They continue play at home over the weekend when they host Penn State Behrend and Cazenovia on Sept. 23rd and Lyndon State on Sept. 24th.

The next two weekends the team hits the road. They play at tri-match at D'Youville with Baldwin Wallace on Sept. 30th and they head to the Lycoming Tournament the next weekend to compete vs. the hosts, Misericordia, SUNY Canton, and Penn State Behrend.

The Alfred Tournament returns for the second straight year on Homecoming weekend (Oct. 13-14). They battle Lycoming and Lynchburg on Friday night at Alfred State and then battle Messiah and Hilbert on Sunday at Alfred University.

The team wraps on the regular season with eight games on the road. They travel to SUNY Delhi (10/20), SUNY Cobleskill and Wells (10/21), Houghton (10/24), Cazenovia and Penn College (10/28), and Hilbert (10/31). 

The American Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships will be held Nov. 4-5 at Alfred State.

The 2016 Pioneers were 25-9 last season and played in both the ACAA Championships and the USCAA Championships.
