Godfrey Collects 25 Kills on Friday Night

Alfred State senior outside hitter Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) collected 25 kills as the Pioneers opened up play at the Alfred Tournament. The blue & gold fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-18) to Lycoming and 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-16) to Lynchburg.

Godfrey recorded 15 kills (.462 hitting percentage) in the opener vs. Lycoming. She also collected nine digs. Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA) registered 11 kills, Sarah Raichlin (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) passed out 17 assists, and Samantha Tumolo (Manorville/Eastport South Manor) passed out 15 assists.

Lilly Singleton led the Warriors with eight kills, Emily Morris passed out 16 assists, and Emily Hepner had seven digs.

Godfrey collected 10 kills vs. Lynchburg while Raichlin passed out 11 assists. Madison Webster (Corning) had a team high seven digs.

Mesa Willis led the Hornets with 11 kills, Lynn Walsh passed out 16 assists, and Lauren Stanford had nine digs.

The action in the Alfred Tournament shifts to Alfred University tomorrow. The Pioneers take on Messiah at 10 a.m. and Hilbert at 2 p.m.
