Pioneers Split on Day Two of Alfred Tournament

The Alfred State volleyball team split a pair of matches on day two of the Alfred Tournament. They fell 25-20, 25-23, 25-9 to Messiah before defeating Hilbert 25-12, 25-11, 24-26, 25-13.

Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) led the team with six kills, six digs, and three aces vs. Messiah. Sarah Raichlin (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) passed out 15 assists and Madison Webster (Corning) led the team with 14 digs.

Godfrey and Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA) both collected 14 kills and five digs in the four-set victory over Hilbert. Raichlin passed out 45 assists and Webster led the way with 13 digs and four aces. Morgan Hungerford (Lyndonville) chipped in nine kills and Shannon Dwyer (Cutchogue/Mattituck) added seven. 

The Pioneers are back in action on Friday when they play at SUNY Delhi at 6 p.m.
