Volleyball Wins a Pair at Cazenovia

The Alfred State volleyball team won a pair of matches on Saturday at the Cazenovia tri-match. They defeated Cazenovia 25-19, 25-20, 24-26, 25-14 and then swept Penn College 25-10, 25-9, 25-8.

Versus Cazenovia, Kiara Perkins (Coudersport) had a big day. She led the team with 15 kills and five aces. She also added seven digs. Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) finished with 12 kills and 17 digs, Madison Webster (Corning) had 25 digs, and Sarah Raichlin (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) passed out 35 assists. 

The Pioneers collected 14 service aces in the sweep of Penn College. Raichlin the the team with five aces and 16 assists while Nicole Donnelly (Livonia) chipped in four aces. Godfrey led the team with 11 kills and Webster collected a team high 12 digs.

The Pioneers (10-16) wrap up the regular season on Tuesday when they host Hilbert at 7 p.m. Prior to the game they will honor the senior class and during the game the team will be raising money for the Allegany County Cancer Services by hosting their annual Pink Pride contest.
