2017 All-ACAA Volleyball Selections

Godfrey, Webster, and Perkins Earn All-ACAA Honors

A trio of Alfred State volleyball players, Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga), Madison Webster (Corning), and Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA), have been named to the All-ACAA Volleyball team. Godfrey was named Co-Player of the Year while Webster and Perkins were 2nd team selections.

Godfrey led the ACAA with a 3.22 kills per set. She finished the season with 290 kills (.182 hitting percentage), 188 digs, and 52 service aces. In 19 matches Godfrey recorded more than 10 kills and in seven matches she had more than 10 digs. She had a season best 24 kills in a four-set victory over SUNY Cobleskill and had a season best 20 digs vs. D'Youville. She finished the season with nine straight matches with 10 or more kills. Godfrey finishes her four-year career at Alfred State with 1,041 kills, 1,022 digs, and 191 service aces in 130 matches.

Webster was the team leader in digs with 325. Her 4.01 digs per set was 7th in the ACAA. She also collected 39 aces, 20 kills, and 16 assists for her libero position in 81 sets played.

Perkins had a solid freshmen season. She accumulated 229 kills (2.46/set) and finished with a .216 hitting percentage. She also collected 120 digs, 28 service aces, and 13 total blocks.

The Pioneers finished the 2017 season 12-17 and were runner-ups in the ACAA Championship Tournament.

Jenna Roat of SUNY Canton shared Player of the Year honors with Godfrey. Brittany Eberly of Valley Forge was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Year, Peyton Robinson of SUNY Canton picked up Setter of the Year honors, and Miranda Washinawatok of UMaine-Presque Isle is the Freshman of the Year. Tyler Pfahler of Valley Forge was recognized by his peers as the Coach of the Year. He led the Patriots to a 18-7 record, including winning 7 of the final 9 matches of the year.
