D'Youville was able to earn a 25-23, 25-22, 25-20 over Alfred State on Saturday afternoon.
Madison Webster (Corning) led the way for the Pioneers with 13 kills and 14 digs. Sarah Raichlin (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) continued her climb towards 1,000 assists with 30 helpers. Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA) added nine kills and 12 digs while Jordan Stauffeneker (Lansing) led the team with 14 digs.
The Pioneers hit .103 for the contest and collected nine service aces (led by Raichlin's three) but were slowed down by 13 service errors.
Jasmine Filkov led the Spartans with 11 kills, Angela Filkov passed out 12 assists, and Desiree Walters led the way with 15 digs. D'Youville hit .179 in the contest.
The blue & gold begin a three-match homestand on Wednesday when they host Houghton. The match is slated for 7:30 p.m. and will be the team's annual Dig Pink contest.
