Volleyball Closes Out Season With a Split at Wells

The Alfred State volleyball team closed out the 2019 season with a split at the Wells tri-match on Saturday. The Pioneers earned a 25-17, 25-11, 25-27, 25-16 victory over Keystone but fell 25-22, 9-25, 16-25, 16-25 to the hosts.

Kiara Perkins (Coudersport, PA) had a big match vs. Keystone. She finished with 17 kills (.342 hitting percentage), 17 digs, and three service aces. Alyssa Fox (Letchworth) added 13 kills and 13 digs. Jordan McCooey (Horseheads) passed out 40 assists and had six aces, Jordan Stauffeneker (Lansing) added 11 digs and three aces, and Alyssa Martin (Portville) added three aces. The Pioneers hit .258 for the match and accumulated 16 service aces to down the Giants.

Perkins had another double-double vs. Wells. She finished with 10 kills, 10 digs, and four service aces. Stauffeneker led the team with 19 digs, McCooey passed out 26 assists, and Fox added six kills and nine digs. 

The Pioneers finish the season with 10 victories, one more than the 2018 season.
