2022 Volleyball Season Preview
The Alfred State volleyball team has been picked to finish second in the AMCC preseason coaches poll. The 2nd place spot in 2022 is a significant jump from the 8th place prediction in the 2021 preseason poll. After an 18-win season (7-1 in AMCC) the Pioneers look to build on what was a strong showing last season.
The Pioneers are led by Keturah Gregory (Laurel, MD/ High Point) a senior who had 149 kills in 2021, she led the NCAA in kill percentage. Along with Keturah, Nayomie Ferrer (San Juan, PR/ Eastridge) was an all-AMCC first team selection in 2021. She led the team in aces and assists as a freshman.
Schedule Overview
Season Opener: vs. Union (Fri., Sep. 02, 5 p.m.)
Home Opener: vs Houghton (Wed., Sep. 14, 7 p.m.)
The Pioneers have a twenty-five-game schedule, with ten of them to be played at home. The final home game is set to take place on October 26 against Hilbert in a conference match. They end regular season and conference schedule by traveling to Penn St.- Altoona for a match on Oct. 29.
