Pioneer Men Finish 2nd at ACAA Championships

The Alfred State men's cross country team earned a 2nd place finish at the inaugural American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) Championship on Saturday. The Pioneers scored a 40 and finished only behind the host SUNY Delhi.

Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) was the top finisher for the Pioneers on the 8k course at the SUNY Delhi Golf Course. He crossed the finish line in 27:37.2. Shawn Rutledge (Watkins Glen) was 6th in 28:19.4, Eric Hulbert (Mexico) was 7th in 28:50.3, Austin Demberg (Westtown/Minisink Valley) was 12th (30:29.6), and Ryan Lohr (West Seneca) was 13th in 30:42.5. 

Conrad Kroll (Westtown/Minisink Valley) was 16th (31:56.9), Matthew Conner (Port Byron) was 16th (34:06.3), Jesse Hallett (Honeoye) was 22nd (34:35.2), and Caleb Boyce-Wright (Cheektowaga/John Kennedy) was 24th (34:42.6). 

Delhi's Robie Lane won the men's race with a winning time of 26:40.5. Delhi took the men's title with a score of 19. Alfred State was 2nd (40), SUNY Canton was 3rd (84), Valley Forge was 4th (112). 34 men finished the race.

Hanss, Rutledge, and Hulbert all raced to All-ACAA 1st team honors while Demberg and Lohr earned 2nd team honors.
