Pioneer Pride Society
The Athletic Pioneer Pride Society was formed to foster a link between the past and the future and works toward goals of enhancing the Athletic Department and athletic opportunities for future Pioneer athletes.
We have achieved impressive facility upgrades in the past 10 years. Pioneer Stadium, a 3.2 million dollar outdoor athletic facility, opened in 2008 and is the home to Pioneer football, soccer, lacrosse, and track & field. The baseball and softball teams play on fields that were part of a 1.5 million dollar project completed in 2003 and upgraded in 2010 with irrigation, power, and scoreboards.
Alfred State is proud that its athletic programs teach the value of education, competitiveness, integrity, and true sportsmanship.
In the past five years, few colleges our size can boast the number of NJCAA All-Americans (8, All-Region, and All-Conference that we have. That’s also true for academic athletic achievement as well.
We encourage you to stop in and say hello if you are ever in the Alfred area. We would love to personally show you around campus.
Hall of Excellence Project
The Athletic Pioneer Pride Society’s goal in this appeal is to expand on the current Hall of Fame area in the atrium outside the Orvis Activities Center gymnasium. The Athletic Department would like to make the entire area into a Hall of Excellence with an expanded Hall of Fame and plaques to honor former Pioneer award winners and championship teams. Estimated cost of completion of this project is $50,000.
How to Make a Contribution
Contributions of any amount will be accepted and greatly appreciated. You may use our online giving form (choose Athletic Pioneer Pride Society from the drop down menu).
Contributions may be made in the form of:
- Cash, Check, Credit Card
- Securities
- In-kind materials, equipment, or labor – special arrangements must be made to accept contributions of in-kind service/labor to be allowable by the IRS
Donors may make a pledge and pay over a span of 1-5 years.
- Payment schedule determined according to donor’s needs (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Longer payout schedule can be arranged, if desired
