Sell, Kremer, and Kothor Named #PioneerPinpoint Athletes of the Week

Swimmer Allison Sell (Hanover, PA), wrestler Konnor Kremer (Horseheads), and track & field Victoire Kothor (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) have been named the Alfred State #PioneerPinpoint athletes of the week.

Competing at the ECAC Winter Championships, Sell qualified for the ECAC Open Championships in late February at the Naval Academy with a 6th place finish in the 100 breast. She finished 1:09.41 which is nearly five seconds faster than her previous best. Sell also was 12th in the 200 breast (2:35.58) and 14th in the 400 IM (4:59.47). Sell is the first Pioneer to ever qualify for the end of the year championship. She was also part of the 9th place 200 yard medley relay, the 9th place 800 free relay, the 10th place 200 free relay, the 10th place 400 medley relay, and the 10th place 400 free relay.

In the 157 lb. weight class Kremer earned 4th place at the RIT Invitational. He started day with a pin of Tom Marrone (Oneonta) in 5:36. He advanced to the semifinals with a 10-0 win over Ryan Rigney (Worcester Polytechnic Institute). He fell 5-0 in the semifinals but bounced back with a 8-4 decision over Kirk Feeney (RIT) to advance to the 3rd place match. In the 3rd place match he fell 8-2 and to finish the day earning 13.5 points and a 3-2 record.

Kothor had a big day as the indoor track & field team opened up the season at the Brockport Invitational. She won the weight throw and qualified for the ECAC Championships with a toss of 16.42. She also broke her own school record. In the shot put, Kothor finished 2nd with a throw of 12.78 m.
