Stevens Honored by AMCC, Named #PioneerPinpoint Athlete of the Week with Cutler
Alfred State freshmen diver Rebecca Stevens (Wellsville) has been named the AMCC Diver of the week and shares #PioneerPinpoint Athlete of the Week honors with teammate Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ).
Stevens had an impressive collegiate debut on the diving board as the Lady Pioneers defeated Franciscan by one point in their season opener. In that meet she won the five dive competition with a score of 169.8 and the six dive with a score of 224.9 for a total of 394.72.
Her performance led her to earn the 1st Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference athlete of the week honor for an Alfred State athlete. She was joined by Nick Boyd (Pitt Bradford) and Lauren Finnegan (Cabrini) in the AMCC swimming & diving weekly awards.
Cutler was one of two Pioneers that were double event winners in the season opening victory over Penn State Altoona. He won the the 1,000 free (11:28.94) and the 500 free (5:32.30).
