Men's Basketball: 4-7

The men's basketball team won two of their three contests this past week. They defeated D'Youville 78-70, fell 63-55 at Maine Fort Kent, and defeated Maine Presque Isle 59-53.

Marquis Edwards (Queens/In-Tech Academy) led the team with 33 points while Tyrone Davis (Brooklyn/Benjamin Banneker) averaged 8.7 points per games and 7.3 assists. Justin Wallace (Mt. Vernon/Mt. St. Michael) came off the bench and averaged nine points per game while Tyler Elliott (Perry) and Marcus Rhett (Middletown) both chipped in 22 points. Elliott also averaged 10 boards per game.

For the week, the Pioneers shot 36.8%, hit 13 three-pointers, and outrebounded their opponents 139 to 124.

Women's Basketball: 5-4

The Lady Pioneers led throughout and won their lone game of the week, 74-63 over D'Youville.

Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) led three scorers in double figures with a double-double. She had 25 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks. Breana Gleaton (Waldorf, MD) finished with 17 points and Michayla Salatel (Geneseo) connected on three 3-pointers and finished with 10. Kimberly Levee (Dansville) hit a pair of 3-pointers and chipped in six.

A contest at Apprentice (VA) was postponed over the weekend and for Tuesday (1/10) but the two teams are looking for a date to make-up the game.

Swimming: Men 2-1, Women: 3-1

The swimming & diving team returned to campus late last week and started preparing for the 2017 portion of their season. They kick off competition in 2017 on Wednesday when they battle Indiana (PA) University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Indoor Track & Field

The Pioneer track & field team will make their debut on Saturday when they head to the RIT Invitational. Action is slated to begin at 10 a.m.

Wrestling: 2-3

The blue & gold return to the mat this weekend with a pair of events. They travel to Penn State DuBois on Wednesday and then head to the Brockport Invitational on Saturday.
