Bialecki and Davis Honored by AD3I

Alfred State basketball players Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) and Tyrone Davis (Brooklyn/Benjamin Banneker) have been named the Association of Division III Independents Players of the Week.

Bialecki averaged 16.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 4.0 blocks per game as the Pioneers went 2-0 on the week. The sophomore began the week with 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and four blocks in a victory over Central Penn on Thursday before ending the week with 14 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in a triumph over Maine-Fort Kent on Sunday.

Davis averaged 14.0 points, 7.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game as the Pioneers went 2-1 on the week. The senior scored in double figures in all three games and shot 44.4 percent from the floor. The guard began the week with 14 points and five assists against SUNY Poly on Tuesday before producing a week-high 15 points in Alfred State's victory over John Jay on Saturday. Davis capped off the week with a double-double by way of 13 points and 11 assists in a 90-81 victory over Five Towns College on Sunday.

Bialecki and Davis are the first Pioneers to earn AD3I honors this winter.
