Men's Basketball: 9-12

Jalen Smith hit a fall away three-pointer as time expired in overtime to lift Hilbert to a 89-88 victory over Alfred State in the Pioneers lone game of the week.

Dante Jordan (New York/Law & Public Service) led the Pioneers with a career high 23 points and nine boards. Davis finished the day with 14 points, 10 assists, and five boards, Marquis Edwards (Queens/In-Tech Academy) finished with 13, Marcus Rhett (Middletown) had 11, and Juwan Tolliver (Buffalo/McKinley) chipped in 10 points, seven boards, and six assists.

The Pioneers shot a blazing 63.3% from the field in the 1st half but cooled down the rest of the way and finished the night shooting 44.9%. The team was 5 for 15 from three but struggled form the line making 13 of 22 attempts. The Pioneers held a slight 43 to 40 advantage on the boards and forced Hilbert into 25 turnovers.

Women's Basketball: 11-7

Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) scored with under seven seconds left to lift Alfred State to a 58-57 victory over Hilbert in their lone game of the week.

Bialecki continued her solid play with a game-high 32 points and 11 rebounds. She finished the day 13 for 23 from the field and 6 for 6 from the foul line. Steffanie Preston (Groton) finished with eight points while Kane chipped in six points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Alfred State shot 45.6% from the field and hit 6 of their 8 foul shots. The team forced the Hawks into 21 turnovers.

Swimming: Men 2-2, Women: 4-1

The swimming and diving team spent the week preparing for the AMCC Championships which will be held this week at Penn State Behrend. The Pioneers will compete in the four-day event starting on Wednesday.

Indoor Track & Field

The indoor track and field team competed at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational on Saturday.

Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool) led the Pioneers with a 4th place finish in the 5,000. She crossed the finish line in 19:28.12. Her time is nearly six seconds faster than her career best at Alfred State and improves her 3rd best time in school history.

Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) was 12th in the men's 5,000 finish in in 16:29.80 while the Distance Medley Relay team of Austin Demberg (Minisink Valley), Trevor Stiles (Hornell), Ryan McFarland (Waverly), and Conrad Kroll (Minisink Valley) were 6th in 12:27.53. Joe Richardson (Geneva) finished 16th in the triple jump with a leap of 11.98 m.

Wrestling: 7-7, 11th at Baldwin Wallace Invitational

George Van Valen (Ithaca) led the wrestling team as they competed at the John Summa Invitational at Baldwin Wallace. Van Valen finished 2nd in the 184 lb. weight class.

Van Valen was dominant in his first three matches to reach the finals. He pinned Frank Russel (Wabash) in 41 seconds, earned a 16-0 tech fall over Avery Jones (Thomas More) , and then shutout Zeckary Lehman (Baldwin Wallace) 4-0. Van Valen was defeated by Jordan Bushey in the championship match.

Konnor Kremer (Horseheads) finished the day was 3-2 in the 174 lb. weight class while Mitchell Lattuca (Lancaster) also picked up three victories in the heavyweight bracket.

Kremer was the lone Pioneers to earn a victory in the team's dual meet at Oswego on Wednesday. He downed Jeff Lombardi 4-1.
