Baseball: 0-3

The baseball team opened up their season with a three game series at Apprentice. The Pioneers fell 2-1, 14-3, and 5-2.

Cullen Franz (Cazenovia) led the offense with a 4 for 10 weekend. He collected a double, a triple, and hit a solo homer. Dan Woodward (Honeoye) also collected four hits in the series. The team stranded 25 runners on base over the weekend.

Jake Remington (Letchworth) was the tough luck loser in the opener. He tossed six innings and allowed just two hits while striking out eight. Brady Sass (Cal Mum) tossed six innings on Sunday and allowed just five hits and two earned runs.

Men's Basketball: 9-16

The Pioneers finished the regular season falling 86-80 in overtime at Morrisville and 80-66 at Mansfield. 

Justin Wallace (Mt. Vernon/Mt. St. Michael) led the team with 31 points. Juwan Toliver (Buffalo/McKinley) netted 29 points, Dante Jordan (New York/Law & Public Service) chipped in 26 points and 16 boards, and Marcus Rhett (Middletown) finished with 26 points.

The team will compete at the ACAA Championships this weekend at Pine Manor College (Chestnut Hill, MA).  

Women's Basketball: 14-9, 6th in latest USCAA Poll

The women's basketball team won one of their final three regular season games this week. They were tripped up 68-51 at Carlow, defeated Maine Fort Kent 59-47, and fell 63-59 at Maine Presque Isle.

Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) scored 63 points (30 points vs. both Carlow and Maine Presque Isle) and grabbed 31 rebounds this week. Kimberly Levee (Dansville) scored 21 points and grabbed 18 boards while Michayla Salatel (Geneseo) and Kelly Kane (Wellsville) both finished with 18 points on the week.

The Pioneers will host the ACAA Championships this weekend and will be the #1 seed.

Lacrosse:

After scrimmaging this past weekend, the Pioneers will take the field for the first time in 2017 on Saturday when they travel to Keuka.

Indoor Track & Field

The indoor track & field team wrapped up the regular season at the Brockport "Golden Eagle" Invitational on Saturday. The Pioneer men finished tied for 7th while the women were 9th.

Anders Prethus (Ithaca/Lansing) was 5th in the shot put to record the best individual performance on the men's side. He threw a toss of 13.98 m. Zach Curran (Williamson) was 6th in the pole vault with a leap of 4.25 m. Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) was 9th in the 1,000 (2:52.85) while Eric Hulbert (Mexico) was 10th (2:53.81). Joe Richardson (Geneva) was 11th in both the high jump (1.71 m) and the triple jump (12.59 m). The 4x800 relay finished 2nd in 9:17.74.

Kelly Healy (Maple Grove) was the top finisher on the women's side. She finished 12th in the 800 in 2:32.80. Her time is the 7th best in school history. The 4x400 relay team of Emily Brigman (Hamburg), Brianna Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge), Healy, and Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville) finished 3rd in 4:34.07. 

Wrestling: 7-8, Ranked 7th in NCWA I

The Pioneers had the weekend off but will be heading to the NCWA Northeast Championships this weekend at the University of New Hampshire.
