Baseball: 0-7

The baseball team didn't get the offense going and fell in four games at Emory & Henry over the weekend (5-0, 7-4, 10-1, and 7-1).

Jesse Swan (Campbell Savona) was 3 for 5 and Austin Baker (Canisteo Greenwood) was 3 for 7 on the weekend. Cullen Franz (Cazenovia) hit .364 with his second homer of the season and 2 RBI while Dan Woodward (Honeoye) connected on his first homer of the season. The Pioneers offense hit only .206 on the weekend.

Lucas Cornell (Alfred Almond) was solid out of the bullpen pitching three solid innings. Reno Chesire (Port Jervis) made two appearances out of the pen without allowing an earned run.

Women's Basketball: 15-11

The Pioneers traveled this past week to Uniontown, PA to compete in the 2017 USCAA Championships. The team fell 67-43 to Rochester (MI) in the quarterfinals and then lost a tough 75-61 consolation game vs. Dean (MA) College.

Versus Rochester, the Pioneers fell behind early and never could recover. The team did outscore the Warriors in the 2nd half. Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) led the team with 15 points, eight boards, and five blocks while Kimberly Levee (Dansville) finished with 11 points.

Dean used a big 3rd quarter, outscored Alfred State 22 to 10, in their victory. Bialecki led the way with 21 points, 16 rebounds, and eight blocks while Steffanie Preston (Groton) recorded a career high 15 points and chipped in eight boards. Minnie Robinson (Washington DC) added five points, nine assists, five rebounds, and five steals.

The Pioneers were making their 2nd trip to the USCAA Nationals in the past three years.

Lacrosse: 1-2

The Pioneers split a pair of matches this week. They defeated Wells 11-8 and fell 16-12 at Hiram.

Aaron Buck (Churchville) led the way for the offense this week with nine goals and five assists. He scored three goals and had three assists vs. Wells and then scored six goals and passed out two assists vs. Hiram.

Joe Johnson (Churchville) netted eight goals and passed out one assist this week while Teddy Alvarado (Hilton) scored five times and had three assists. Tanner Morrow (Grand Island) was key to the offensive success winning 39 of 48 faceoffs and grabbing a team high 27 ground balls. In net, Ryan Amidon (Fayetteville Manlius) made 24 saves.

Indoor Track & Field: 13th at NYSCTC Championships

Zach Curran (Williamson) finished 14th in the pole vault at the 2017 ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. He recorded a leap of 4.12 m (13'6.25").

Wrestling: Ranked #9 in NCWA Division I

The Pioneers head to Allen, TX to compete in the NCWA Nationals this week. Action starts on Thursday and runs all the way until Saturday evening.
