Men's Basketball: 4-11, 2-8 AMCC

Ryan Gentile (Spencerport) averaged 22.3 points in a three conference games this past week. He shot 44.4% from the field, connected on nine 3-pointers, and was 10 for 12 from the line. The Pioneers fell in all three games, 101-76 at Medaille, 79-68 vs. Pitt Greensburg, and 77-66 vs. Penn State Altoona.

Josh Reding (Spencerport) added 33 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists this week while Markel Jenkins (Elmira) finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds in the first two contests. 

Women's Basketball: 4-11, 2-8 AMCC

Jordyn Pettit (Wellsville) netted 49 points and grabbed 35 rebounds for the women's basketball team in three conference games this week. The Pioneers fell 64-58 at Medaille, 81-56 vs. Pitt Greensburg, and 77-51 vs. Penn State Altoona.

Pettit shot 46.5% from the field and connected on four 3-pointers. Skylar Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) connected on ten 3-pointers and finished with 32 points this week while her sister Kelsey Shaulis finished with 29 points. Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) averaged nine assists per game with 26 total helpers.

Men's Swimming & Diving: 5-2, 2-1 AMCC

The men's swimming & diving team had a busy weekend as they went 2-1. They defeated Pitt Bradford 124-41 on Friday night and then spilt a tri-meet with Utica (W 146-56) and Nazareth (L 142-92) on Saturday in a short course meter program.

Matt Walker (Kenmore West) won five individual events over the weekend while Westin Perry (Canisteo Greenwood) won four. Walker won the 1000 free (10:42.99), the 100 back (56.86) on Friday and then won the 800 freestyle (9:11.69), the 200 IM (2:18.04), and the 100 breast (1:08.58) on Saturday. Perry won the 200 free (1:49.47) and the 100 free (49.53) on Friday and the 200 free (2:01.50) and 100 free (55.77). 

Austin Miller (Hornell) set new school diving records on both boards on Saturday. On the 1m board he finished 2nd with 267.35 points and on the 3m board he was 4th place with 198.40 points.

Women's Swimming & Diving: 5-3, 3-1 AMCC  

The Pioneers were 2-1 over the weekend. They defeated Pitt Bradford 123-16 on Friday and then split a trim-meet with Utica (W 125-64) and Nazareth (L 181-43) on Saturday in a short course meter program.

Mikaela Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) won a pair of events on Friday, the 200 free (2:09.72) and the 100 fly (1:06.92) and then was 3rd in the 200 free (2:24.43), 3rd in the 100 breast (1:24.96), and 4th in the 100 fly (1:15.11) on Saturday.  Alina Kisluk (Hamburg) won the 1,000 free in 12:19.07 and the 500 free in 5:55.90 and then won the 800 free in 9:11.69 and was 3rd in the 100 free (1:09.62) on Saturday. Sarah Stevens won the 100 free (1:01.37) and the 200 IM (2:44.32) on Friday and then was 3rd on the diving board in the 1m competition on Saturday (163.75).

Men's Track & Field:

Jacob Wadsworth (Dansville) and Zion Ponder (Rochester/School of the Arts) won events and qualified for the All Atlantic Region Championships as the Alfred State track & field team opened up the 2020 portion of the season. Wadsworth won the 200 m with a winning time of 22.57. He was also tied for 4th in the high jump (1.89 m). Ponder won the high jump a leap of 1.97 m. 

Zack Rudewicz-Nepokroeff (Williamsville East) was 3rd in the long jump (6.61) and was 8th in the 200 (24.14), Matt Connolly (Elmira Notre Dame) was 5th in the 5000 (18:34.52), and Cameron Chambers (East Rochester) was 8th in the 400 (52.36).

Women's Track & Field:

The women's track & field team opened up the 2020 portion of their season at RIT on Saturday.

Emma Taggart (New Windsor, MD) was tied for 6th in the high jump (1.51 m) and 10th in the 60 hurdles (10.30) to highlight the day. Alyssa Delany (Hornell) was 12th in the triple jump (9.17 m), Isabelle Popoff (Cicero North Syracuse) was 17th in the 400 (69.71), and Katherine O'Buckley (Francis Lewis) was 18th in the 1000 (3:41.73).

Wrestling: 3-4

Four Pioneers wrestled to All-Conference honors as the team competed at the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference at SUNY Oneonta.

Kyle Fitzgerald (South Lewis) finished 3rd at 285 after a 4-1 day. He opened the day with a pin of Samuel Berger (Oneonta) in 1:11. He advanced to the semifinals with a 7-2 win over Zach Herbert (Cortland). He dropped into the consolation break after fall in the semis but was able to get to the 3rd place match by defeating teammate Jacob DeWall. In the 3rd place match, he defeated Herbert for the second time, 5-1, to register the teams highest finish.

DeWall finished 5th in the same heavyweight bracket. He was 4-2 on the day. He pinned Anthony Oca (Brockport) in 2:03 in his opening match but fell in the quarters. He pinned Mi-Andre Hughes (RIT) in 2:06 and Owen Albanese (RIT) in 6:11 to advance to the consolation semifinals. He fell to his teammate Fitzgerald in the consolation semis but earned 5th with a medical forfeit victory over Johnathan Solorzano (Oneonta).

Anthony Miraglia (Byron Bergen) was 4-2 and finished 5th at 149 lbs. He won 14-5 over Larson Larame (Oneonta) to open up the day. After falling the quarters, he won two straight, 12-9 over Michael Fronczak and 4-1 over Austin Reed (Brockport) to advance to the consolation semifinals. He fell in that round but earned 5th with a medical forfeit win over Cahal Donavan (Cortland) in the 5th place match.

Blake Ilges (Canisteo Greenwood) was 2-3 on the day at 174 lbs. and finished 6th. After falling in his first match in the quarterfinals, he pinned Nathan Parker (RIT) in 2:25 and then had a major decision, 9-0, over Corey Snyder (Brockport). Ilges fell in his next two matches to end the day.
