March is National Athletic Training Month - thanks to Kylie Bierman, Alexe Pask, and Becca Straub for their hard work for our student-athletes

Thank You Athletic Trainers

The Alfred State athletic department would like to honor and thank our three athletic trainers that provide great service to our student-athletes. Thank you to head athletic trainer Alexe Pask and assistant athletic trainers Kylie Bierman and Rebecaa Straub.

Pask, Bierman, and Straub care daily, sometimes around the clock, for Pioneer student-athletes. They handle injuries with expertise and work with our student-athletes to keep them healthy and on the field. Their hours are not traditional and during some time periods there are very few days off.

  • Pask has been in the AT room since the winter of 2012 and became the head athletic trainer in 2016. She has primary coverage of the football, the women's basketball, and the softball team.
  • Bierman joined the AT staff in the summer of 2017. She has primary coverage of men's and women's soccer, men's basketball, wrestling, and baseball.
  • Straub came to Alfred State in the summer of 2017 as well. She has primary coverage of the volleyball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field, and lacrosse teams.

National Athletic Training Month is held every March in order to spread awareness about the important work of athletic trainers. The 2020 slogan is "ATs Impact Health Care Through Action."
