4th Pioneer Pride Day Deemed a Success

The Alfred State athletic department staff and two dozen student-athletes spent Wednesday (8/19) morning participating in the department's annual Pioneer Pride Day. This is the 4th straight year that various jobs around athletic facilities were accomplished prior to the start of the new school year.

Jobs that were accomplished during the morning of work included:

  • Edge the infield of the baseball and softball fields
  • Weeded at the baseball field, softball field, Pioneer Stadium, and throwing areas.
  • Cleaned out under bleachers at all athletic facilities
  • Cleaned dugouts at baseball and softball fields
  • Moved tarp tube to baseball field
  • Worked on the walking trails and cross country course
  • Cleaned up the tennis court area
  • Put the back-up nets up at Pioneer Stadium
  • Put out walking mats across the track at Pioneer Stadium

Every full time member of the athletic department participated in the activities and members of the wrestling, swimming & diving, and softball teams pitched in.
