Taggart, Mucher, Popoff, Gartland, and Yates Earn ASC Academic Award
Emma Taggart (New Windsor, MD), Riley Mucher (Warsaw), Isabelle Popoff (Cicero North Syracuse), AJ Gartland (Irondequoit), and Stuart Yates (Naples) were recently named the 2021 Alfred State Academic Award winners. The quintet was honored at a ceremony held in the Cappadonia Auditorium.
The Alfred State Academic Awards honor the male and female athletes who have competed in athletics for at least two years, while achieving the highest overall grade-point average during that time.
- Taggart is a two-year member of the track & field teams. She has a 4.0 GPA in Computer Information Systems
- Mucher is a two-year member of the soccer team. She has a 4.0 GPA in Nursing
- Popoff is a two-year member of the track & field teams. She has a 4.0 GPA in Architecture and Interior Design
- Gartland is a four-year member of the baseball team. He has a 4.0 GPA in Architecture. He has won this award three straight school years
- Yates is a two-year member of the swimming team. He has a 4.0 GPA in Architecture
