Doviak Named Vice-Chair of NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics

Alfred State Director of Athletics Jason Doviak has recently been named the Vice-Chair of the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics (CWA). Doviak is entering his fourth year on the committee.

The CWA provides leadership and assistance to the association in its efforts to provide equitable opportunities, fair treatment and respect for all women in all aspects of intercollegiate athletics. Toward these ends, the committee seeks to expand and promote opportunities for female student-athletes, administrators, coaches, and officiating personnel. The committee promotes governance, administration and conduct of intercollegiate athletics at the institutional, conference and national levels that are inclusive, fair and accessible to women. The committee also develops programs and resources, which can be of practical use to the association in its effort to achieve these ends.

Doviak is excited for the opportunity. "I am happy to serve this outstanding committee in this capacity as we continue our efforts to support women in sports along with diversity, equity, and inclusion. We have an outstanding group of committee members that stem across all three divisions and I am looking forward to collaborating with them, as well as the MOIC, on these important topics."

Doviak has already begun his new role.
