Kice and Broadwater Named ASC Athletes of the Week
Madison Kice (Canadensis, PA) and Shy'rel Broadwater (Syracuse/Cicero North Syracuse) have been named the Alfred State Athletes of the Week.
Kice scored a goal in each of the women's soccer victories this past week. She scored the second of seven first half goals in a 8-0 victory over Wells on Saturday. She followed that up with a part in both of the goals in a 2-1 victory over Elmira on Sunday. She assisted on the opening goal and then scored what proved to be the game winning goal late in the 1st half.
Broadwater set a new Alfred State NCAA era record with 247 receiving yards in the Pioneers battle with Rochester. His nine catches ties the best mark in the NCAA era. Two of his catches resulted in 4th quarter touchdowns vs. Rochester. He caught TD passes of 25 and 53 yards.
