Athletics Acquires New UTV for Department

Fueled by the generosity of three corporate partners, the Alfred State department has acquired a new UTV. The Can-am Defender will be used primarily for athletic training purposes.

Director of Athletics Jason Doviak is excited to have another vehicle for athletic department use. "Thanks to the support of three outstanding sponsors, Laborers' Local 621, Union Concrete, and Maddie's Motorsports, we were able to acquire a new vehicle to support our outdoor athletic training needs. The Can-am Defender has an enclosed cab to help keep our athletic training staff out of the outdoor elements when they are covering practices and contests. It also features a large bed for all of our athletic training equipment along with supplies for our student-athletes. It is a fantastic addition to the athletic department and will allow us to continue to provide our student-athletes with outstanding medical coverage for years to come.  We are grateful for the support of our sponsors!"

The Can-am Defender features rotax power, excellent cargo, and hauling capacities. It is bred for heavy work and will be ideal for helping meet the needs of athletic trainers Alexe Pask and Becca Straub. The vehicle is durable enough to handle the hills of the cross country course and has the ability to transport athletes and athletic training equipment.

The vehicle is already on campus and has been put to use during fall athletic events.
