"I am very excited for the opportunity to be the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Communications at Alfred State. From my first conversation with Jason Doviak, to stepping foot on campus for my interview, and meeting the staff, I have been captivated. Alfred State offers so much opportunity to its students and staff, from their academics and athletics to the charming town; I am looking forward to being part of it all."

Yernye joins Alfred State after spending nearly two years at Hamilton College as the Assistant Sports Information Director. Prior to Hamilton, Yernye spent two years at Plattsburgh State. While at Plattsburgh, Yernye managed the department's social media and digital media including web streaming, video board content and video production. Yernye also worked with the women's volleyball, women's and men's ice hockey, women's and men's lacrosse and softball teams as well.

From 2014 to 2017, Yernye worked as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Georgia Southwestern in Americus, GA. While there, she wrote press releases, designed media guides, graphics, posters, programs, produced videos and managed the department's social media accounts along with serving as a game-day administrator.

Prior to Georgia Southwestern, she worked as an assistant to the athletic department at both D'Youville College and Daemen College.

Yernye ran cross county and indoor and outdoor track at Plattsburgh State. She served as the vice president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in addition to captaining the cross country and track & field teams during her junior and senior seasons. She earned her bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and marketing in 2010 before earning her master's degree in sport administration from Canisius College in 2013.

"The competitive nature of the Pioneers drew me in especially with the transformations the department has made under the leadership of Jason Doviak. I am thrilled to be part of the atmosphere they have created so far and am looking forward to adding to it. I can't wait to hit the ground running."
